Stephanie, you freaking scare me. I just read Howard Zinn's "A people's History". So good. I heard him first on iTunes of all places. Such an interesting man.
Those are good books. I don't completely trust Zinn, but he's definitely worth the reading. You should also check out the anthologies "Abuse Your Illusions," "You Are Being Lied To" and "Everything You Know Is Wrong." Zinn has some articles in those, and some of the stuff in there will keep you up late at night. I have the whole kook library here at home. Ha! I want in on the book club. We can meet at our naked vacation.
I, too, have only read an article or two by Chomsky, but to be honest, I can't remember much about them, it's been so long. So, how will the Naked Book Club work? This could be fun.
Yes, I've been reading about HNT on Monkey's blog and others. Looks interesting. You're right, it does sound strangely innocent. However, I think a motley gang like us would have to go the whole route to Fully Naked Thursday Book Club. I can picture the letterhead now!
